My iPod interface in the car?

disconnects. My friend tried again and continued to do the same. The iPod interface through play a couple of songs and then in the middle of next he just leave and go to radio and iPod diconnected said. and then after 10secs if he returns to the track exactly where you left off. What? is the iPod or the car? My car is a Nissan Cube 09 and my iPod is 3rd gen iTouch
