satellite radio antenna connector

Accidentally broke the cable on my Sirius satellite radio. Best fix this?
It broke near the connector on the radio so I guess it would be difficult to splice again. Sirius antennas are like $ 40 – worth trying to save money?
The son of them are not too expensive. It is better to buy second, whether the weld or (UGGG) black tape, it could damage the internal wiring and cause a short, sometimes go into the radio, it could mess system in place, or cause a fire, just better to pay extra and spring for the new thread.
